Ex-police chief remanded
MUMBAI, AUG. 15. The former Commissioner of Police, Mr. R.D.
Tyagi, arrested on charges of murder of nine persons in the 1993
riots case, was today remanded to police custody till August 23
by a holiday Magistrate here.
Mr. Tyagiwas not produced before the court on the advice of
doctors.
The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Mr. C.L. Thool,
directed the police to produce Mr. Tyagi before a regular court
if he was discharged before August 23.
