A painful comparison
Sir, - The Prime Minister has committed desecration on his
official residence by releasing a book on Lakshman Rao authored
by a BJP leader. It was painful to read that Mr. Vajpayee
compared Nehru with Lakshman Rao who defended the conspirators of
Mahatma Gandhi. The Prime Minister's action was akin to releasing
the photos of Veer Savarkar, Vishnu Karkare, Nathuram Godse, to
cite a few. Nathuram Godse carried seven bullets in his pistol
and used only three to kill the Mahatma. The book release
function amounted to firing the remaining four bullets at
Gandhiji's grave.
R. Janakiraman,
Cheyyar, T.N.
