Win Chadha passes away
New Delhi, Oct. 24. One of the key accused in the multi-crore Bofors case, Mr. W.N. Chadha, died last night following a heart attack at his Bijwasan farmhouse in South-West Delhi. He was 77. Mr. Chadha had been admitted to hospital on September 30 following a brain stroke. He was discharged on October 5.

SAARC drops statement
Colombo, Oct. 24. The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation has abandoned an attempt to put out a joint statement on the September 11 attacks in the U.S. after failing to sew together the conflicting viewpoints of India and Pakistan on terrorism, officials here said.
