Exchange of soiled notes
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, OCT. 24. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has commenced
a special drive for exchange of soiled notes which are in
circulation in the city. It has authorised all the branches of
the public sector banks as also certain private banks to accept
and exchange all types of soiled/mutilated notes which are
payable under the RBI (Note Refund) Rules.
The facility is available not only to the customers of the banks
but also the general public as well. The Deputy General Manager,
RBI, Mr. M. Janardhanam, in a statement here on Wednesday
appealed to the people to make optimum use of the facility. The
existing facilities for exchange of defective notes at the RBI
offices will also continue.
