Think of the economy
Sir, - This is with reference to the Pakistani President, Gen.
Pervez Musharraf's statement on resuming talks with India during
the visit of the German Chancellor, Mr. Gerhard Schroeder, to
Pakistan. The interest shown by Gen. Musharraf towards the
Kashmir problem appears to be unrealistic. If he was really
interested in a dialogue with India, he would not have blocked
the talks at the Agra summit.
However, he uses the phrase resumption of dialogue at intervals
fixed by him to gain attention from the international community
and to make them feel Pakistan is more interested in restoring
peace in Kashmir than we are. It is time we learnt from China
which is focussing on improving its economy.
We must think of our economic prosperity also even as we embark
on peace talks.

Anakapalli, A.P.
