Unhealthy mindset
Sir, - The news story about the attack on a schoolgirl in the
U.K. (Oct. 19) made me wonder what has gone wrong with the psyche
of the Muslim youth. The pseudo-religion preached by Osama bin
Laden has made the youth lose sight of a healthy perspective of
life.
The motive to forge ahead in various fields has been replaced by
an unhealthy mindset which glorifies violence, hails evil as a
virtue and misunderstands false sermons as religion. I hope the
Muslim youth realise their folly of following Osama.
Shireen Akhtar,
Visakhapatnam, A.P.
