Marthanda Rao still in naxal custody
By Our Staff Reporter
KARIMNAGAR, OCT. 30. The Union Minister of State for Home
Affairs, Mr. Ch. Vidyasagar Rao's close relative, Mr. Chennadi
Marthanda Rao, who was abducted by CPI-ML Janashakthi group
naxalites on Dasera from Korem village of Boinpally mandal, was
still in custody of the naxalites when reports last came in on
Tuesday.
The close relatives of Mr. Marthanda Rao were confident of his
release on Monday following the acceptance of the naxalites'
demand of distribution of agricultural lands among the landless
poor in Korem village. But, the stalemate over his release
continued. Mediators went into the forests again to negotiate
with the naxalites.
