E-Merck Q3 net up

E-Merck India has posted a 22.7 per cent increase in net profit at Rs. 14.51 crores for third quarter ended September 30, 2001 against Rs. 11.83 crores in the corresponding period last year. Total income increased to Rs. 96.74 crores from Rs. 88.63 crores in Q2 2000.

Vam Organic

Vam Organic Chemicals has posted a 59 per cent increase in net profit at Rs. 5.51 crores for the second quarter ended September 30, 2001 against Rs. 3.46 crores in the corresponding period last year. Total sales Rs. 230.96 crores, up 5 per cent against Rs. 220.44 crores.

During the first half ended September 30, the company registered a 51 per cent increase in net profit at Rs. 10.12 crores against Rs. 6.70 crores.

Export sales stood at Rs. 24.96 crores in Q2 against Rs. 18.65 crores in the same period last year.

Aventis Pharma

Aventis Pharma has posted a 23.6 per cent increase in net profit at Rs. 15.20 crores for the third quarter ended September 30, 2001 against Rs. 12.30 crores in the corresponding period last fiscal. Total income increased to Rs. 143.80 crores from Rs. 133.20 crores in Q3 2000.

The board has approved the merger of Rhone-Poulenc Rorer with the company. At present, it holds 29.40 lakh equity shares in Rhone Poulenc Rorer (India) constituting 49 per cent. The company will now purchase the balance 30.60 lakh equity shares in Rhone- Poulenc Rorer to make it a 100 per cent subsidiary, subject to regulatory approvals.

Sun Pharma

Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries has posted a 49.7 per cent increase in net profit at Rs. 48.19 crores for the quarter ended September 30, 2001 against Rs. 32.20 crores in the same period last fiscal. Total income for the period under review rose by 27.9 per cent to Rs. 198.4 crores from Rs. 155.16 crores.
