By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI, NOV. 2. The Chennai Corporation has deployed around 600
health staff members to cover 30 divisions for control of
mosquito breeding in and around houses. Fogging is also
undertaken in the areas and houses where dengue cases are
reported.
Handouts containing information on dengue, its spread and steps
for prevention are also being distributed among the public to
create awareness. The officials have requested the public to
adopt certain precautionary measures in order to prevent the
spread of mosquitoes.
All containers used to store water should be kept covered and
water from refrigerator drips pans removed every other day,
wells, over- head tanks and sumps should be made mosquito proof.
A standard pattern mosquito proof lid made of cast iron was
available with the Corporation at a rate of Rs. 300 per set.
