ECB team satisfied with security arrangements

NEW DELHI, NOV. 2. The two-member British team expressed satisfaction at the security arrangements promised for England cricketers during their forthcoming visit to India.

At a press meet here on Friday, the England and Wales Cricket Board Cricket Operations Director Mr. John Carr said ``we are now very happy with that arrangements can be put in place to achieve this end. We look forward to a most exciting Test series.''

Having spent more than two days in India, Mr. Carr said ``life continues entirely as normal in India. We didn't come here with any long list of demands.'' Security for the Englishmen was the priority and Mr. Carr said ``I am impressed.'' Mr. Carr was accompanied by the England Team Representative Mr. Tim O'Gorman who noted ``I believe that all the individual concerns (of the players regarding security) can be substantially addressed by the proposed security arrangements.''

Later, the British High Commissioner Sir Rob Young said in a press release ``I am delighted that the plans for England's cricket tour of India are going ahead. Indian cricket fans will give the England team a warm welcome. Exciting cricket between two great teams is a wonderful prospect.'' The English team arrives in India on Nov. 14.
