Astle completes double century
BRISBANE, NOV. 2. Nathan Astle was finally out for 223 as New
Zealand declared at 444 for nine on the second day of its tour
match against Queensland today.
The hosts were 140 for one in reply at the close of play, with
Australia opening batsman Matthew Hayden unbeaten on 56.
Astle's seven-hour innings, in which he faced 380 deliveries,
included 27 fours and two sixes. Astle, who resumed on 160 with
New Zealand 332 for six, fell with the score on 427 for nine,
caught in the deep by Hayden off Andrew Symonds.
