MCD E-Commerce named IBM's business partner

Bangalore Dec. 20. IBM India has announced the appointment of Manipal Control Data (MCD) E-commerce Ltd as its advanced business partner to support IBM in its software projects in the Asia Pacific region. MCD E-Commerce is the Bangalore-based flagship IT company of the Manipal Group.

MCD, with its strong technology-software background, and IBM, a world leader in IT, will together provide a comprehensive technology solution to the software market in the region. By becoming IBM's advanced business partner, MCD aims at providing IBM technologies such as Websphere, MQ series, Lotus, and Linux-based solutions to corporates.

Dr. Govindan Sridharan, Country Executive, IBM India, said: ``This is another example of IBM's going to the market with leading independent software vendors under the PartnerWorld for Developers programme,'' Mr. Udaya Shankar Puranik, COO and Vice-President-Technical of MCD, said: ``By partnering with IBM we will be able to provide the latest technology and value-added services to our customers.''

MCD is a ``Class A'' ISP and software company with Internet data centres in Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, and Mangalore.
