Bangalore-Patna train flagged off

BANGALORE, JAN. 1. A direct train from Bangalore to Patna -- No. 6596/6595 Patna-Chennai Central-Patna biweekly Sanghamitra Express -- was flagged off from the Yeshwanthpur railway station here on Tuesday morning.

The former Krishnarajapuram Station Master, Mr. Gurumurthy, who retired on December 31, had the rare honour of flagging off the train. The Senior Divisional Operating Manager, Bangalore, was present on the occasion.

Train No. 6595 Yeshwanthpur--Chennai Central--Patna biweekly special departs at 5.45 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, to reach Chennai Central at 1.05 p.m. It will depart from Chennai at 1.35 p.m. the same day, to reach Patna at 8.05 a.m. the next Thursday and Saturday, respectively.

Train No. 6596 Patna--Chennai Central Express departs from Patna at 2.45 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays to reach Chennai Central at 9.55 a.m. on the following Saturdays and Mondays, respectively. It will to leave Chennai at 10.30 a.m., and arrive at Yeshwanthpur by 5.45 p.m., via Arakkonam, Jolarpettai, K.R. Puram, and Yelahanka.

The trains will have two 2-tier AC coaches, 11 sleeper-class coaches, two general second class coaches, two general second class-cum-luggage vans, and a pantry car, a Southern Railway release says.
