Devaswom Bill not to harm any group: CM

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 12. The Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, has said the Government will ensure that the Devaswom Bill will not have any provision against the interests of any religious groups and institutions.

Speaking to reporters after calling on Mata Amritaanandamayi at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math at Kaimanom here today, Mr. Antony said the interests of the staff of the devaswom boards would also be protected by the Government.

Stating that he obtained peace after visiting the math every year, the Chief Minister praised the services, especially in the health and education sectors, rendered by the trust, and hoped that this would continue in the coming years. The Chief Minister also held a 20-minute closed door discussion with Mata Amritanandamayi.

The Union Minister of State for Home, I.D. Swami, the deputy leader of Congress Legislature Party, M.P. Gangadharan, B. Vijayakumar, MLA, were among those visited the math today.
