Elangovan's appeal to parties

CHENNAI, JAN. 20. The TNCC president, E.V.K.S.Elangovan, today appealed to the parties to withdraw from the Andipatti bypoll.

In view of the many allegations and since a free and fair environment was not possible, it was better if other parties also withdrew from the contest, he said.

The Congress had decided to pull out of the race ``considering all aspects'' with the approval of the High Command and taking the PCC president into confidence, its general secretary, Ramesh Chennithala, said over phone from New Delhi.
