Thieves make away with Rs.17,000 cash

CHENNAI, JAN. 23. A diamond nose ring, silver vessels and Rs.17,000 were reportedly stolen from a house in Tambaram Sanatorium on Monday night.
According to the police, thieves broke into a house on Madhavan Street in Sundrammal Nagar, when the residents were away. The incident came to light, after the inmates returned home yesterday. A complaint has been lodged with Chromepet police.
In another case, thieves entered the house of one, Sekar on New Bharathi Street at Pazhavanthangal and decamped with 14 sovereigns of gold jewellery. The incident occurred when the inmates were away.
In the third case, the Sankar Nagar police have received a complaint from S.Pasupathy, that cash had been stolen from side-box of his vehicle in Pammal. The incident occurred when the victim went to a shop and returned to find Rs.30,000 missing.
