SINGAPORE, FEB. 1. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Shanmugha Arts, Science & Technology Research Academy (SASTRA) in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, for collaborative research in embedded systems technologies. SASTRA is a Centre of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) launched by the Government of India through its Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) as part of its ``Mission Reach'' initiative.
The TIFAC-CORE at SASTRA and the Centre for High Performance Embedded Systems at the NTU will ``jointly identify and undertake use-inspired research projects in embedded systems''. A press statement said: ``Staff/student exchanges between the two organisations will be encouraged to leverage on the capabilities and expertise of both parties.''
