Amitabh no match for me: Laloo
PATNA, FEB. 7. Amitabh Bachchan may be drawing star-struck crowds in Uttar Pradesh in a subtle campaign for the Samajwadi Party but the RJD supremo, Laloo Prasad Yadav, feels Mr. Bachchan is no match for him.
``Amitabh Bachchan can't match me,'' Mr. Yadav today said at a news conference, a day ahead of the launch of the joint poll campaign of the RJD and the Congress for elections in Uttar Pradesh.
``Mr. Bachchan may be a crowd-puller but politicians alone can get the votes,'' Mr. Yadav said.
He is expected to share the dais with the senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad, at an election rally in Aligarh tomorrow kickstarting the joint campaign.
Mr. Yadav said his party would contest 25 seats in Uttar Pradesh and asked the 16 other party candidates out of a total of 41 to withdraw from the fray.
``We are ready to withdraw more candidates if we feel that they are weak,'' he said.
