PPL strike enters second day

BHUBANESWAR, FEB. 9. The hunger strike by 35 employees of Paradip Phosphates Ltd., protesting the manner in which the Centre is going ahead with the disinvestment of the fertiliser unit, entered its second day here today.

The employees, led by the Biju Janata Dal MP, Prabhat Samantaray, and the former MP, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, are demanding that they be taken into confidence before the completion of the disinvestment process. The disinvestment is not being done in a transparent manner, they alleged at a press conference.
