ISLAMABAD, FEB. 17. There was no word on the whereabouts of the missing Wall Street Journal journalist, Daniel Pearl, as the 48-hour deadline set by the Pakistan Interior Minister for a major breakthrough in the case ended. Authorities are on the look out for Mansur Hasnain, another suspected accomplice of Omar Sheikh in the kidnapping. The Punjab police is believed to questioning several of acquaintances of Hasnain but do not seem to have made any major headway.
