I am innocent: Vikas

NEW DELHI, FEB. 23. Vikas Yadav, a prime suspect in the Nitish Katara kidnapping case, tonight said he was innocent and was being framed in the matter to malign him.

``I am totally innocent. Somebody has tried to take advantage of the situation and tried to play a game to malign me,'' he told Aaj Tak. ``Everybody is aware that I am contesting elections and I, at this point of time, fail to understand who has played the mischief and why''.

The police and court would be able to find out soon what exactly had happened, he added.
