Christian council moves NHRC
By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, FEB. 23. The All-India Christian Council (AICC) has moved the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against the appointment of the ``engineer-turned-Sangh Parivar-pamphleteer'', N.S. Rajaram, to the Indian Council for Historical Research.

The appointment of what is alleged a ``bigoted minorities' baiter'' to the highest academic forum of professional historians had distressed the Christian community, a council statement said and added that ``it would almost seem the Ministry of Human Resource Development is rewarding him for his blasphemous writings against Christ and his communal tirade against the minorities''.

Urging the NHRC to order a review of the appointment, it quoted some of Mr. Rajaram's writings to show his ``anti-minority attitude''.
