Fast track courts cross 1,000 mark

NEW DELHI
March 4.
A total of 1,015 fast track courts have been set up throughout the country as on January 31 and the efforts of the Centre for speedy disposal of cases have paid dividends.
According to an official release, out of 84,290 cases transferred to the fast track courts, 18,875 had been disposed of.
Initiated by the Union Law Minister, Arun Jaitley, the Centre had taken steps for the setting up of 1,764 such courts before the end of March 31.
While many States had responded favourably and established these courts, no fast track court had been set up in Goa, Himachal Pradesh and Sikkim, the release said.
