Govt. rules out further review of NCERT books

NEW DELHI MARCH 4. The Government has ruled out any further review of the recent changes made in the textbooks of NCERT.

The Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Rita Verma, said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha that while suitable measures were being taken on the basis of comments and suggestions received from historians and the CBSE, "no review is being considered".

All the manuscripts (of textbooks) were being rigorously examined at workshops to ensure that the books remained free from factual errors as well as "any sectarian or ideological bias," she said.— PTI
