Ehsan Jafri's wife alive

AHMEDABAD, MARCH 4. For 65-year Zakia Naseen, wife of the deceased Congress leader, Ehsan Jafri, whose family members were burnt to death on February 28, being alive is nothing short of a miracle.

Ms. Naseen was on the top floor of the building in Meghaninagar area which was set ablaze by a mob killing the former MP and several others.

``My chachiji (aunt) had a miraculous escape with several burn injuries and is now staying with us,'' Jafri's nephew, Mehmod Sagar, said over phone from Gandhinagar.

Mr. Sagar, executive engineer with the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Corporation, said Ms. Naseen was observing four months period of customary `Iddat' (widowhood) and would be in veil.
