The Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Goldenrock railway workshop, R. Nagarajan, presiding over the Safety Week celebrations today, said the order was worth about Rs. six crores, and the workshop would design the engine and deliver the same within two years. The workshop had already designed the diesel-fired steam engine for the Nilgirs Mountain Railways. The Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, S. The number of accidents had come down to an all-time low of 20 last year, as against 37 the previous year. According to R.Srinivasan, Chief Safety Officer, most of the accident victims were above 40 years, and accidents occurred in the first two hours when all-important works were taken up or during the fag end of day, when workers were tired.
