Sena seeks review of budget

NEW DELHI MARCH 19. The Shiv Sena today made a frontal attack on the union budget in the Lok Sabha and demanded its review apprehending it was prepared under pressure from foreign institutions declaring a ``one sided war'' on the poor.

The party member, Subodh Mohite, said the budget has made a mockery of the poor by slashing customs duty on foreign liquor while raising prices of kerosene and LPG.

``This all shows the Government's inefficient handling of the economy.''

Mr. Mohite was critical of the reduction in fertilizer subsidy and reduction in Government jobs.

By reducing jobs, the Government was encouraging anti-national and anti-social activities, he alleged. _ PTI
