Our Mysore Staff Correspondent adds: The death of the nonagenarian freedom fighter has saddened his admirers, as he was perceived to be one of the last links to a bygone era that brought freedom to the country.The Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, V. Sreenivasa Prasad, has said that the death of Jois had created a vacuum in society that would be difficult to fill. The Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, H. Vishwanath, has said the nation, the State, and the city had suffered an irreparable loss in the death of Jois. A. Ramadas, MLA, expressed similar sentiments. The Mysore District Journalists' Association too has expressed its grief over the death of Jois. Its President, Rajashekar Koti, and General Secretary, Jambukeshwar, laid a wreath on the mortal remains of Jois this morning.
