Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
Pondicherry March 30 C.P. Tirunavukarasu, the DMK MP (Rajya Sabha) has said that care should be taken that while interception of communication, permitted under the newly enacted POTA ,was resorted to, there should be no interference in individual's freedom al though there was apprehension that the provision would be used against the politicial parties. Addressing a meeting of the BSNL after his Congress counterpart in Lok Sabha, M. O. H. Farook Maricar formally inaugurated the new telephone exchange of BSNL at Moolakulam today, Mr. Tirunavukarasu said that he and Farook were affiliated to different political parties. But when it came to question of improving the welfare of the people of the Union Territory they would always work in tandem and witout differences. On the floor of the Parliament there would have been support and opposition from the parties on several issues of the government moves. The BSNL had been implementing programmes excellently.Mr. Farook who dialled from the dais to call Tirunavukarasu seated beside him marking inauguration of the Moolakulam exchange said that there should be decentralisation of financial and administrative powers for speedy disposal and speedy decisions on the part of General Managers. The entry of private players in telecom field would always pose a challenge, hence work culture should improve.
