Terming the attack as a ``barbaric'' act, members of the samiti gathered at the Kashmir Bhavan here today, declared that ``no amount of sympathy could bring back the lost lives''. Terrorism sponsored from across the border had reached new proportions hitherto unknown to the people of the country resulting in a sense of insecurity among the people especially minorities in the State, they said. Expressing the insecurity of the minorities, the protesters added that ``this phenomenon of attacking minorities at the slightest pretext has become a constant feature resulting in almost wiping out of the minority Kashmiri Pandits from the valley''. They urged the authorities concerned and the people of the country to ``crush the ugly head of terrorism with all the might available in the country so that it does not raise its ugly head again''. In a resolution passed at the end of the meeting, the Samiti urged the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities to arrange for a visit by a five-member delegation with representatives from the Kashmiri Samiti, Delhi and the National Commission of Minorities to the State in order to make an assessment of the situation.
