Omar Abdullah leaves for Iran

NEW DELHI MARCH 30. The Minister of State for External Affairs, Omar Abdullah, has left for Iran to discuss recent developments in Afghanistan.

Mr. Abdullah is carrying a special message from the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, for the Iranian President, Syed Mohammad Khatami.

Despite worsening relations between the U.S. and Iran, India continues to view Teheran as an important regional partner.
