THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 30. The Lalithambika Antharjanam awards for literature instituted by the Lalithambika Antharjanam Trust have been awarded for the noted writer, Ponkunnam Varkey and the award for the upcoming writer has been awarded for Mayadevi. According to a release issued by Saritha Varma, the secretary of the trust, Mr. Ponkunnam Varkey is being presented the award for his contributions for the growth of Malayalam literature. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 30,001 and a citation. The award for the upcoming writer has been presented to Thrissur based, Ms. Mayadevi for her short story collection, ''Meerayude kaazhchakal''. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs. 5,001 and a citation.
