`Police not cooperating'

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, APRIL 5 The drama over the Kuwaiti woman, Dhalal Falag al-Azmi, took an interesting turn today with the Counsellor in Kuwaiti Embassy, Nomeer Al-Kharuni, who airdashed to city from New Delhi, accusing the ``local police of not cooperating with him''.

He told The Hindu that he was also trying to establish contact with Ms. Azmi through the Superintendent of Police, Chengalpattu East District.

Enquiries with the Meenambakkam airport police show Ms. Azmi has gone to Cuddapah via Tirupati. ``I will stay in the city for a couple of more days to try and contact her'', Mr. Kharuni said.
