His lawyer, Mobin Solkar, had filed the bail petition but the Special Judge, A.P. Bhangale, asked for the presence of the accused since he had refused the bail earlier stating that he did not want to leave the jail as he was learning `meditation' there. When produced in the court for the hearing of his bail application, Afroze, to everybody's surprise, retracted his petition saying he did not want to be set free as he was getting free instructions on meditation whereas outside it would cost him Rs. 5000.
