Move on for inter-religion talks

By Our Staff Reporter

KOZHIKODE APRIL 8. The agenda for an inter-religion dialogue between the top brass of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the spiritual leaders of the Muslim community was set in motion in Malabar today.

The National Minorities Commission (NCM) member, John Joseph, who flew down to Kozhikode from New Delhi on Monday, held parleys with the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) supremo, Panakkad Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal, at the latter's residence in Kodapanakunnu in Malappuram district, and the Samasta Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulema (A.P ) leader, Kanthapuram A.P. Abu Baker Musaliar, at the Kozhikode Guest House here. It is learnt that the meeting was held prior to the talks between the Rashritya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership and leaders of the Muslim community, which had been decided some time back.

The Thangal said that a decision on participating in the dialogue would be taken only after consulting his political and religious leaders of the State.
