KOLKATA, APRIL 8. India came up with best performance in an international event winning the second position in the team championship with three golds, two silvers and one bronze to remain close behind champion Singapore in the second Commonwealth bodybuilding meet here at the Netaji Indoor Stadium here on Monday. India, which could only win one silver in the last meet at Malaysia in 1999, came up with a far superior performance and tied the champion winning three golds. Singapore won an extra silver and a bronze than India to better its points and steal the march over India. Singapore tallied 99 points, India netted 86 points while Malaysia took the third spot with 25 points. The best came from the recently crowned National `champion of champions' N. Pauly put up a brilliant show of his muscularity to walk away with the gold in the fly weight category. Continuing with the grand beginning Dinesh Singh annexed the gold in the bantam weight category beating the five-time Asian champion Ibrahim Sihat of Singapore to the second place. The light weight and welter weight gold went to the former world champion Sazali Samad of Malaysia and Simon Chua of Singapore, respectively.
