Addressing his annual press conference at the BHEL premises on Monday, Mr. Babu said that the plant achieved a turnover of Rs. 305.5 crores for 2001-02, exceeding the target of Rs. 300 crores against a turnover of Rs. 287.07 crores in the previous year. In physical terms, the BHEL, Ranipet produced 40,000 tonnes of boiler auxiliaries against 35,405 tonnes in the previous year. The BAP operating under intense competitive pressure has received orders worth Rs. 287 crores during the year 2001-02 as against Rs. 283 crores for the previous year.
