Train derails, Nitish stranded

Ambala April 10. The passengers of the Kalka-Jodhpur Express had a providential escape when four coaches of the train derailed at an Ambala city crossing, after hitting a bullock shortly after midnight on Tuesday, railway sources said.

The Railway Minister, Nitish Kumar, was among the passengers stranded for about four hours following the disruption of train services on the Ambala Cantonment- Ambala city section of the Northern Railway.

The Jammu Mail in which Mr. Kumar was travelling, left via Jalandhar-Pathankot after it was diverted on the down line track. The normal movement of trains was resumed after four hours.
