Letters to the Editor
Sir, In the Editorial you seem to suggest that India should request the extradition of Prabakaran. Let us not forget that this is next to impossible. He is still the leader of his people and the LTTE. Unfortunately we cannot choose who we want to deal with. Here we and the Sri Lankans are stuck with him. We should also not forget that in South Africa, the African National Congress and the white rulers who were accusing each other of human rights violations, killings, etc., learnt to deal with each other, achieved peace and are living in harmony democratically. Probably we should try to project alternative leadership, so that when democracy returns to north Sri Lanka, LTTE and Prabakaran are defeated. Alternatively when peace returns, we should raise the issue of not allowing Prabakaran to be part of a new Government.
Rama Krishna Bandi,
