``If Mr. Karunanidhi truly feels outraged by the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and regards it as a crime against the nation, then he must take a stand, and not prevaricate or dodge the question,'' Dr. Swamy said in a statement. ``It is ridiculous to suggest, as Mr. Karunanidhi has done, that the peace talks may be hampered by extradition. Any peace talks that lead to Prabakaran to head a government is an affront to India's sovereignty, security and self-respect,'' he added. In any case, he said, the issue of federalism in Sri Lanka had been discussed threadbare during the last 50 years, and required no more discussion. The Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, should ask his country's Parliament to scrap the present unitary Constitution and adopt an Indian or US-type Constitution by proclamation. ``There is no need to waste more time on talks or to delay handing over Prabakaran to India,'' he said.
