Bajaj Auto's export effort

CHENNAI APRIL 18. Bajaj Auto has set a target of 100 per cent growth in exports this year, according to R. L. Ravichandran, vice president (Business Development and Marketing), Bajaj Auto. Mr. Ravichandran said the company had exported over 44,000 units in 2001-02 comprising 11,000 units of geared and ungeared scooters and 16,000 units each of bikes and three wheelers, witnessing 85 per cent growth in total exports in 2001-02. Exports were being effected to South America, Eastern countries, Argentina and Latin America.

Mr. Ravichandran was here on Wednesday in connection with the inauguration of a showroom Vishaka Auto in Chennai and formally handing over keys to waiting customers of Pulsar in Chennai.

The company planned to use the facility of Kasinsky, one of its dealers in Brazil, for assembling vehicles there and selling them in the Latin American markets, he said.
