`Govt. Whip maligning CLP leader'

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD April 18 . A group of Congress-I leaders accused the Government Whip, E. Dayakar Rao, of launching a malicious campaign against the CLP leader, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, in connection with the killing of the Warangal district Telugu Yuvatha president, K. Pratap Reddy.

At a press conference on Thursday, they said it was atrocious on the part of Mr.Dayakar Rao to allege that the former Rajampet MP, A. Sai Pratap (who was also present at the press conference), a close associate of Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy, is evading arrest in connection with the incident.

Former Minister D.L.Ravindra Reddy, legislators D.Nagender and K.Venkat Reddy, Cuddapah DCC president Shaik Hussain, Zilla Parishad chairman K.Suresh Babu, Cuddapah municipal chairman S.M.D.Ahmadullah, who participated in the press confernece, demanded that the investigations into the murder of the Telugu Yuvatha leader be entrusted to the CBI and Mr. Dayakar Rao be sacked for making the irresponsible allegations.

They claimed that all the accused in the incident, named by the police, were TDP members. Some were already arrested while two of the accused were "hiding'' in the houses of the Housing Minister, P. Ramasubba Reddy, and Mydukur MLA, S. Raghurami Reddy.
