Under the Netherlands Management Cooperation Programme, all that the local company has to do is bear the expenses for the local stay and travel of the Dutch expert. The Netherlands Government will take care of the overseas travel and other expenses involved. The industry and management experts who volunteer their services under this unique programme are those who have retired, aged between 60 and 70, and with many years of experience in their areas of specialisation. G.J.W.Mollink, Regional Coordinator of the programme for South India and Sri Lanka, said the expertise offered covered general, financial, commercial and technical management in industry sectors as varied as beverages and IT software. The programme had been active in South India for 10 years and about 25 companies benefited each year. The organisation had 3,000 experts, and covered 80 countries, besides India.
