`U.S. forces did not enter tribal areas'

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD APRIL 25 . The Pakistan Government has denied reports in a section of the United States media that it has agreed to allow American special forces/military advisers to accompany Pakistani troops into sensitive tribal areas in search of Taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters.

A Foreign Office spokesman said here that "this is not true, there is no new development" in response to questions on similar reports in the Washington Post and the New York Times. "We agreed to intelligence-sharing with U.S. authorities but that does not mean Pakistani agencies would operate under the guidance of any foreign advisers."
