Sir, C. Raja Mohan's "Gujarat and the Islamic world" (April 25): The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, should summon the strength and courage to ensure that the violence in Gujarat comes to a halt. At times like this, he should show that "actions speak louder than words". Incidents like Gujarat will only vindicate Pakistan's stand. External Affairs Ministry officials must surely be in pain seeing all the gains made in the past four years being frittered away. I hope that the thought prevailing in the Islamic world that the current events are an "aberration' will remain just that.
N. Ashith Rai,
