Eleven Maoists were killed today by security forces after they discovered a rebel hideout in Simraha forest of Banke district in western Nepal, a Defence Ministry official said. He said security forces gunned down four Maoists, including an area commander and a sub-area commander, in Turture area of Sindhupalchowk district yesterday while one more terrorist was killed by troops in Chuha area of Parvat district when some rebels tried to plant an underground bomb.
Armed rebels ambushed Government troops on a combing operation in Dorpadowela forest in Chiuridanda village of Khotang district yesterday, the Minister of State for Home, Devendra Raj Kandel, said. PTI
