Mr. Sinha (85), is survived by wife, four sons and three daughters. He is also credited with unearthing the famous neolithic site at Chirand in Bihar. He was the Head of the Department of Ancient Indian History and Archaeology of Patna University from 1959 to 1981. He was the founder of the Bihar State Archaeology and Museums Department. He authored several books on ancient Indian history and served as a director of the K. P. Jaiswal Research Institute. Mr. Sinha was also a member of the Central Board of Advisors to the Archaeological Survey of India. PTI
