Assembly poll countermanded

NEW DELHI MAY 3. The Election Commission has countermanded the poll held on February 21 to Kunda Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh in view of largescale booth capturing which had vitiated the election process.

According to the Commission, fresh elections to the constituency from where former State Minister, Raghuraj Pratap Singh, contested as an independent, will now be held on May 31. The Commission had earlier withheld the results of the elections held on February 21 pending enquiry into the complaints.
