All India Radio is organising a music competition for encouraging new talent among young artists. It will he held in two stages (i) preliminary competition which will be held at all AIR stations and (ii) final competition to be held in Delhi and Chennai for Hindustani and Carnatic music respectively. An entry fee of Rs.100 is to be sent to the Station Director of the respective AIR station by money order for participation. The competition is open to those (i) who are between 16 and 24 years of age on June 30, 2002 (ii) who are not performing music artists of AIR duly approved and graded by LAC/MAB or who have not been graded in any LAC/MAB audition held at AIR station till the date of the competition.
The preliminary will be held from Aug. 19 to Sept. 2, 2002. Application form can be obtained from the Station Director/Assistant Station Director of the nearest AIR station. The last date for the receipt of entries in the presented form is June 7.
