NEW DELHI MAY 4. Super star Amitabh Bachchan's son, film star Abhishek Bachchan, today literally had lawyers, journalists and fans running after him when he appeared before a Delhi court to inform it about an out of court settlement in an assault case.

The star was mobbed by lawyers and journalists when he entered the Patiala House courts premises.

The case had been lodged by Mustafa Quraishi, a photographer with the Indian Express and Umesh Puri, freelance photographer, alleging that they had been assaulted by Abhishek Bachchan and Bhavesh Thakkar and Tanya Behel, producers of the Hindi film `Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai' during shooting on the Vijai Path last year.

The Metropolitan Magistrate, J.P. Singh, had on March 30 summoned the three accused for today after taking cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the Parliament police on March 30.

Initially, on their appearance, the court said Abhishek and Mr. Thakkar would be entitled to bail on their furnishing personal bail bonds of Rs. 50 each with one surety of the like amount, while Ms. Behel was granted exemption on medical grounds.

Meanwhile, counsel for the two accused, K.K. Manan, informed the court that talks were on with the complainants for out of court settlement of the case. The two parties later moved a joint application in this regard.
